Laura Cerrano is one of the wellness facilitators who has been volunteering with the not-for-profit organization, Strength for Life NY since they began offering FREE weekend wellness retreats to anyone with a cancer diagnosis regardless of treatment status. To further support Strength For Life NY’s mission, Laura is helping to promote the Wellness Retreat scheduled for December 12th - 13th, 2026.

Since 2009, Strength For Life has been offering FREE Weekend Wellness Retreats to anyone with a cancer diagnosis regardless of treatment status. Our retreats provide a unique supportive environment where guests can experience healing for the mind, body, and spirit while connecting with a community who truly understands their journey.
Strength For Life provides all meals, overnight accommodations (double occupancy), classes, and necessary materials eliminating the financial burden to cancer patients and survivors. Each retreats allows 20 guests to maintain an intimate environment and introduces different healing modalities such as tai chi, yoga, sound healing, reiki, and art therapy. Although each retreat is uniquely different in class offerings, every retreat provides a safe, compassionate, and supportive environment where connections are made with others who share a similar story.
Participant is responsible for travel to and from the retreat. In some cases we do allow “day only” participation, please contact us for more information.
Currently, all retreats are held at the Hyatt Regency in Hauppauge, NY.
